The Bahamas has no strict age ban on used cars, but older vehicles pay extra levies. We ship UK vehicles to Nassau and Freeport.
Import rules
What you can import into Bahamas
No strict age ban
Older vehicles can be imported, but an environmental levy applies to vehicles over 10 years old, and a higher levy to passenger vehicles over 20 years old.
Duty by engine size
Passenger vehicles pay import duty based on engine size and type (lower for hybrids and electric). VAT is added on the landed cost.
Right-hand drive
The Bahamas drives on the left. Our UK vehicles are right-hand drive.
Documents
An import permit and inspection certificate are among the documents needed. Your customs broker handles clearance.
Ports
We ship to Nassau and Freeport.
Rules last checked October 2026. Import rules and taxes change, so always confirm the latest position with your clearing agent before you buy. We'll also check for you before you pay.

FOB and CNF prices
Prices on our website are FOB: the vehicle delivered to the UK port, in US dollars. Ask us for the CNF price, which adds sea freight to Nassau. Import duty, taxes and clearing in Bahamas are paid separately in Bahamas.

We send the price shipped to Nassau by RoRo or container.
Your import licence
Where Bahamas requires one, you apply for the import licence or permit before the vehicle ships. We send you the documents you need.
Shipping
The vehicle goes to a UK port and is shipped to Nassau.
Arrival and clearing
Your customs broker clears the vehicle and arranges inspection and registration.
