What you can import into Guyana
Under 8 years old
Vehicles eight years old or more cannot be imported. Age is counted from the date of manufacture to the date of import.
Heavy-duty vehicles
The age rule does not apply to trucks, lorries, agricultural, industrial and special-purpose vehicles.
Strict enforcement
Vehicles that break the rule can be forfeited, so we check the manufacture date before we quote.
Right-hand drive
Guyana drives on the left. All our UK vehicles are right-hand drive.
Duty
The Guyana Revenue Authority charges duty and excise on imported vehicles. Your customs broker can give you the total for a specific vehicle.
Rules last checked October 2026. Import rules and taxes change, so always confirm the latest position with your clearing agent before you buy. We'll also check for you before you pay.
